Job description

The Role

Ensure that all maintenance and repairs are kept in line with the company and manufacturer’s standards and specifications economically. Manage own and subordinates' workmanship within the transport legislation, follow safe working procedures, and address environmental issues within the realms of a planned maintenance program.

Duties:

Maintain Fleet vehicles to Manufacturers and RTT Specifications
Trouble Shooting
Assists with breakdowns
Carries out basic welding operations
Service/pre and post-inspections and unplanned maintenance.
Unit inspections to assess damage and possible replacement including a post-maintenance inspection.
Ensure completion of jobs within the set standards as well as quality of workmanship.
Request approval of spare requisitions.
Write time sheets.
Prepare quotes for all jobs.
None conformances of ISO.
Planned running repairs.

Skills and Experience Minimum Requirements:

1-3 years formal training as well as relevant experience with 5 years’ experience of which 2 years at a supervisory level (advantageous)
Must have passed a Trade Test/ N3
Under pressure and tight deadlines capabilities
Drivers license, preferably code 10
Qualified diesel mechanic

Other Required Competencies:

Isuzu training (advantageous)
Trade test certificate
