Job description
Core purpose of the role
To timeously service and repair vehicles to manufacturer standards so as to contribute to the company's customer satisfaction target. To be able to repair hail and dent damages on the vehicle.
Key deliverables and outputs
Work Allocation
- Review allocated job cards at the start of shift where applicable
- Report any queries regarding job cards to Supervisor/Manager
- Ensure parts allocated on job card are accounted for
- Source vehicle and move into Workshop
- Complete service/repair as per job card remarks and in line with manufacturer standards
- Check if any additional work needs to be done and write the remarks on the job card
- Source additional part/s for additional work
- Inspect final quality of service conducted by non-qualified technician (RSA)
- Sign job card once work is completed and in line with manufacturer standards. Hand signed job card over to Administrator (Range: own job card, RSA's job card)
Tools and Equipment
- Ensure that tools and equipment are sufficient and comply with manufacturer's standards
- Ensure all tools and equipment used during shift are locked away at the end of every shift.
Housekeeping
- Ensure work area is kept neat and tidy at all times.
Stakeholders (internal, suppliers, shareholders, communities)
- Attend all team huddles and meetings with Supervisor and Manager
- All training courses in accordance with code of conduct
- Ensure adherence to latest ISO requirements
- Ensure that Health and safety guidelines are adhered to at all times.
Internal and External Stakeholders
The role requires close engagement and collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders.
Internal Stakeholders
Regional Operations employees e.g. Dispatch, Workshop, Damages, SHE Representative, relevant Fleet Administration.
External Stakeholders
Suppliers, Manufacturer Representatives.
Academic Qualifications
Essential:
- Matric
- Qualified Motor Mechanic or Technician
- Driver’s License.
Note: The role will be required to attend callouts.
Work Experience
Essential:
- Minimum 5 Years’ Mechanical and hail and dent removal.
This job requires that the employee maintains the highest level of Honesty and Integrity as he /she will have access to company assets, cash handling and confidential record storage areas. This requires that a formal personal background check is undertaken.
