Mechanical / Electrical Engineering Technician

An EME based in Pretoria East, Waltloo is seeking a qualified, dedicated, and results-driven professional to join its growing engineering team.

Minimum Requirements:

• National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering (minimum requirement)
• Relevant qualification in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 3–5 years' experience in maintenance, installation, commissioning, or engineering-related environments
• Sound understanding of electrical systems, fault finding, maintenance, and compliance requirements
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation
• Valid driver's licence will be advantageous

Mandatory Registration and Certification Requirements:

• Valid Electrical Trade Certificate
• Valid Wireman's Licence
• Registration with relevant Electrical Regulatory/Statutory Bodies
• Proof of registration certified by MERSETA
• Valid electrical certification in line with applicable industry regulations

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety requirements
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
• Strong planning, organisational, and reporting skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines
• Computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite
• High level of professionalism and attention to detail

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform mechanical and electrical inspections, maintenance, repairs, and installations
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with applicable regulations and standards
• Conduct fault finding and provide technical solutions to operational issues
• Ensure compliance with statutory, safety, and quality requirements
• Compile technical reports and maintenance documentation
• Assist with project implementation, commissioning, and testing activities
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities where required
• Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant legislation and industry standards
