Mechanical Fitter & Turner

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and breakdown maintenance to ensure high plant availability
• Manufacture, assemble, and install machine parts using lathes, milling machines, and precision tools
• Prepare and maintain spare parts for plant operations
• Complete maintenance schedules, job cards, and reporting requirements
• Support plant shutdowns, including maintenance and machining activities
• Conduct proactive inspections and fault-finding to prevent equipment failure
• Maintain high housekeeping, safety, and environmental standards
• Participate in continuous improvement, root cause analysis (RCA), and safety programmes
• Support team collaboration and assist with apprentice training

Technical Skills Proficient in operating lathes, milling machines, and precision machining tools Skilled in manufacturing, assembling, and repairing mechanical components and equipment Strong ability in fault finding, diagnostics, and breakdown maintenance Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications Experience in modular spare parts fabrication and refurbishment Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices Competent in the use of hand tools, measuring instruments, and test equipment Familiar with engineering standards and best practices Working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations (OSHACT, ISO 14000) Basic computer literacy for reporting, job cards, and maintenance systems
