Merchandiser | Managed People Solutions | Johannesburg

Managed People Solutions is looking for an experienced Merchandiser to join our team. The successful candidate will be placed at various retail stores in Johannesburg, Gauteng, where they will be responsible for merchandising products and ensuring that stores are maintained according to company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and acknowledge customers, including store managers and shoppers.
• Count and determine stock to be merchandised according to the SOP.
• Draw stock requirements and ensure shelves are replenished.
• Merchandise products according to the SOP.
• Check product quality, stock rotation and price tags.
• Keep shelves and back-up areas, such as storerooms, clean, tidy and organised.
• Execute merchandising activities according to the cycle brief.
• Maintain good relationships with customers and escalate issues to management when required.
• Provide feedback on customer complaints, queries and requests.
• Maintain knowledge of products and promotions according to the cycle brief.
• Accurately record all merchandising activities.
• Complete store visits according to the required call cycle.
• Identify and advise managers of opportunities for additional displays and merchandising space.
• Advise managers of out-of-stock products.
• Record relevant metrics and competitor activities.
• Submit required documents to the relevant departments on time, including Proof of Delivery (POD), new account opening documents and trading term agreements.
• Take proper care of company assets, including the company vehicle, laptop and handheld devices.

Requirements

• Matric (Grade 12).
• At least 12 months’ merchandising experience in an FMCG merchandising environment.
• Basic knowledge of spirits.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Vibrant and energetic personality.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Must be willing to work at various retail stores in Johannesburg and surrounding areas.
