Metallurgical Plant Boilermaker

METALLURGICAL PLANT BOILERMAKER (GRADING C2)

Qualifying Criteria:

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualification.
• Trade Test : Boilermaker (preferably Section 13).
• Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in metallurgical gold plant experience; trackless mining or industrialized environment.
• Expert knowledge of gold plant engineering functions including but not limited to plant maintenance, conveyor belts, crushers, pumps, pipe developing, fitting and any other equipment within the gold plant
• Proficient in English and any other of the 11 official languages.
• Must be computer literate with emphasis on Excel and Word.
• Independent judgement, initiative and interpersonal communication skills are required.
• Sound knowledge of fabrication skills and ability to interpret engineering fabrication, construction drawings and erections.
• Must have their own transport.
• Must be a legal South African citizen.
• Clear Criminal Record.

Responsibilities:

• Work a rotation of shifts
• Quality control, best practices and functional support within a Gold Plant, Engineering or Boilermaking section
• Specialized knowledge to analyse and solve complex problems
• Inspect, disassemble, re-assemble, construct and repair all components of boilermaker systems and associated mechanical equipment
• Responsible for pipe developing and fitting thereof
• Troubleshooting and detailed fault analysis
• Compile and distribute reports
• Manage and maintain in area of responsibility in accordance with prescribed standards and practices
• Practice and adhere to metallurgical plant policies and procedures
• Adhere to MHSA standards and Gold One safety motto “Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely”
