Job description
We are seeking a motivated and technically capable Microsoft Certified Server Engineer to join our infrastructure and cloud services team. This role is ideal for an individual with a passion for Microsoft technologies, cloud computing, and enterprise IT support who enjoys solving technical challenges while delivering exceptional customer service.
The successful candidate will provide operational support across hybrid infrastructure environments, including Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Azure, virtualisation platforms and networking technologies. Working as part of a skilled technical team, you will assist with maintaining secure, highly available systems while supporting customers across a broad range of industries.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Infrastructure & Server Administration
- Administer Windows Server environments.
- Perform user and system administration tasks.
- Support Active Directory, Group Policy and DNS.
- Monitor server performance, capacity and system health.
- Assist with server upgrades, maintenance and patch management.
- Support virtualised environments including Hyper-V and VMware.
Hybrid Cloud & Microsoft Platform Support
- Support Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud environments.
- Assist with Microsoft 365 administration including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and Entra ID.
- Manage user provisioning, permissions and access control.
- Support backup, disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
- Assist with cloud migrations and infrastructure projects.
Technical Support
- Troubleshoot hardware, software and infrastructure issues.
- Investigate incidents and perform root cause analysis.
- Log, manage and resolve support tickets within agreed service levels.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers where appropriate.
- Provide remote and onsite technical support to customers.
Network & Security Support
- Provide basic network troubleshooting.
- Support switches, firewalls, VPNs and wireless infrastructure.
- Assist with endpoint security, antivirus and Microsoft Defender solutions.
- Support identity management, MFA and conditional access policies.
- Follow security best practices and assist with compliance activities.
Monitoring & Documentation
- Monitor infrastructure using enterprise monitoring platforms.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation.
- Record changes using change management procedures.
- Produce reports relating to system performance and incidents.
Minimum Requirements
Microsoft certification (required), such as:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
- Microsoft 365 Administrator Associate
- Equivalent Microsoft infrastructure certification
- Relevant Diploma or Degree in Information Technology will be advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience supporting Microsoft server environments.
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud infrastructure.
- Experience working within an MSP or enterprise IT environment will be advantageous.

- Basic firewall administration
