Junior Microsoft Power Platform Developer (18-Month Contract) – Transnet ICT, Durban

Job Summary

We are looking for a Junior Microsoft Power Platform Developer to join the Transnet ICT Department on an 18-month contract. The successful candidate will assist in designing, developing, testing, implementing, and supporting business process automation solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform.

Working in an Agile environment, you will collaborate with business analysts, solution architects, developers, and stakeholders to build scalable business applications and automate processes using Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain Power Platform solutions (Canvas and Model-driven Apps).
Build automated workflows using Power Automate.
Create Power BI dashboards and reports.
Configure and manage Dataverse tables, relationships, and business logic.
Integrate solutions with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Dynamics 365, SQL, APIs, and other enterprise systems.
Perform testing, debugging, documentation, deployment, and ongoing support.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver business solutions aligned with best practices.

Minimum Requirements

National Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related qualification (NQF 6/7).
At least 2 years’ experience in software/application development across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Experience with:
Microsoft Power Apps (Canvas & Model-driven)
Power Automate (Flows/RPA)
Power BI
Dataverse
Microsoft 365, SharePoint, SQL, and APIs
Exposure to Power Fx, JavaScript, JSON, HTML, Agile/Scrum, and UX principles will be advantageous.

Pay: From R150,00 per hour

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal
