MID-LEVEL INTERIOR DESIGNER

We specialise in high-end residential interior design, creating sophisticated, considered and highly detailed interiors. We are looking for someone who is not only creatively strong, but who is exceptionally detail-oriented, organised and confident when dealing directly with clients.

This role would suit someone who takes ownership of their projects, understands that the small details matter, and can communicate professionally and confidently throughout the design process.

THE ROLE

As a Mid-Level Interior Designer, you will be involved in projects from concept through to implementation, working closely with our clients, suppliers, contractors and internal design team.

You will be responsible for:

• Developing interior design concepts, moodboards and presentations
• Preparing and coordinating detailed design documentation
• Selecting finishes, materials, furniture, lighting and décor
• Developing and reviewing joinery and detailed design drawings
• Preparing specifications, schedules and pricing information
• Liaising directly with clients and confidently presenting design concepts
• Managing client feedback, revisions and approvals
• Communicating with suppliers, contractors and tradespeople
• Attending site meetings and conducting site inspections when required
• Coordinating with architects, contractors and other consultants
• Ensuring design intent is maintained through procurement and installation
• Assisting with procurement, ordering and project administration
• Managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
• Taking responsibility for the accuracy and quality of your work from concept through to completion

Exceptionally detail-oriented.

You notice the things others don’t. Dimensions, finishes, alignments, junctions, hardware, materials and the finer details matter to you.

Excellent with clients.

You are confident, professional and personable. You can communicate design ideas clearly, listen to what a client wants, manage expectations and build strong relationships.

Highly organised.

You can manage multiple projects, deadlines, drawings, samples, specifications and client requirements without losing track of the details.

Technically capable.

You understand interior architecture, joinery, finishes and construction sufficiently to produce and coordinate detailed design information.

Confident and accountable.

You are comfortable taking ownership of your work and communicating when something needs attention. You don’t need to be constantly managed or reminded about deadlines.

Design-led but practical.

You have a strong eye for proportion, scale, materials and aesthetics, but understand that good design also needs to be functional, buildable and commercially realistic.

A strong communicator.

You can communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, suppliers, contractors and consultants — both verbally and in writing.

REQUIREMENTS

• Relevant Interior Design qualification
• 3+ years’ experience in a professional interior design environment
• Experience with high-end residential interiors would be highly advantageous
• Strong understanding of finishes, materials, furniture and joinery
• Strong technical drawing and documentation skills
• Proficiency in relevant design software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle
• A professional, polished and client-focused approach
