The Role

We're looking for an experienced SEO/GEO content writer to produce and optimise high-quality copy for clients across a wide range of industries. You'll work primarily on eCommerce category and product pages, with variety across accounts and plenty of room to grow.

This is a full-time (40 hours/week), fully remote role, open to candidates based anywhere in South Africa. We are not able to offer relocation or visa sponsorship.

What You'll Do

• Write and optimise long-form content for SEO, AI visibility, and UX — primarily eCommerce category and product pages.
• Research and plan each piece using a Surfer SEO brief and client guidelines, taking ownership of structure and creative direction.
• Manage your workflow in Notion and communicate proactively with the wider team to keep content on schedule.
• Build ongoing expertise in each client's industry, audience, and content best practices.
• Collaborate with the editing team to meet our quality standards.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of professional writing experience, with a portfolio demonstrating strong, versatile writing skills
• Fluent English
• A genuine interest in SEO/GEO
• Working knowledge of eCommerce content
• Strong research and fact-checking ability
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow briefs precisely
• Sound judgement and independent problem-solving — comfortable working with minimal oversight
• Strong communication skills and openness to feedback
• Reliable internet connection

Logistics

• Salary: R16,000–R18,000/month, depending on experience
• Type: Permanent, full-time (40 hrs/week), 3-month probation
• Location: Fully remote, based anywhere in South Africa
• Reporting line: Content Team Lead, as part of the Content Team
• Cadence: Weekly content team meetings, monthly full-team meetings, monthly 1:1s with your Team Lead

Is This You?

This role suits someone self-directed and resourceful ;comfortable managing their own workload, solving problems independently, and applying SEO/GEO best practice without close supervision. You'll have a Team Lead for support, but we're hiring for judgement, not hand-holding.

You should genuinely care about SEO/GEO and be able to write convincingly across varied, sometimes niche, topics, consistently meeting a high quality bar across both long-form content and metadata.
