Pitsana Mills is looking for a dedicated and qualified Miller to join our dynamic milling team. We are seeking a professional with proven experience in maize milling, who is passionate about operational excellence and product quality.

Location: Pitsana Mills, Delmas Road, Gauteng

Salary: Market Related (Negotiable based on experience and qualifications)

Employment Type: Full-Time | Shift & Weekend Work Required

Core Duties & Responsibilities:

· Operate and oversee the maize milling process during the assigned shift.

· Monitor mill performance, extraction rates, and throughput to ensure efficient production.

· Adjust mill settings and control machine loads to maintain product quality and production targets.

· Perform routine equipment inspections, basic maintenance, oiling and greasing of machinery to ensure optimal functionality.

· Monitor machine operations to ensure products meet required quality and quantity standards.

· Identify defects or quality deviations and take corrective action where necessary.

· Maintain strict adherence to hygiene, housekeeping, and food safety standards in line with ISO 22000 requirements.

· Maintain accurate production records, checklists, and operational documentation.

· Assist with the operation and maintenance of material handling equipment and other mill machinery.

· Work closely with the production team to meet daily targets and resolve operational issues.

· Assist with training or guiding junior milling staff where required.

· Perform any other reasonable duties as required by management in line with operational needs.

Requirements:

· GMF-SAGMA Milling Qualification (Maize) – essential.

· Minimum 5 years’ practical experience in maize milling.

· Sound knowledge of ISO 22000 food safety standards and milling hygiene practices.

· Strong understanding of milling systems, machine settings, and product specifications.

· Ability to interpret milling data and respond to quality deviations.

· Good mechanical aptitude and ability to operate milling machinery efficiently.

· Computer literacy (Excel and production reporting systems).

· Good communication and organisational skills.

· Bilingual (including English) for effective communication and reporting.

· Physically fit and willing to work shift schedules, weekends, and overtime when required.
