Role Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimisation of production machinery and equipment. This role demands a balanced command of electrical and mechanical systems, with hands-on experience in PLCs, hydraulics, and pneumatics. The position operates on a shift rotation basis, requiring flexibility and commitment to operational continuity.

Responsibilities:

· Perform planned and preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment and machinery

· Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults efficiently to minimise production downtime

· Operate, programme, and troubleshoot Allen Bradley PLC systems

· Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems across the production environment

· Conduct root cause analysis on recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions

· Ensure all maintenance activities comply with relevant safety, quality, and operational standards

· Collaborate with production and engineering teams to optimise equipment performance and availability

· Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and documentation for all servicing activities

Min. Requirements:

· Holds a valid N3 qualification in an appropriate technical field

· Possesses a recognised and certified Millwright Trade Test

· Has a minimum of 10 years' relevant experience as a Millwright

· Demonstrates equally balanced experience across both electrical and mechanical disciplines

· Has practical, hands-on experience with Allen Bradley PLC systems

· Has proven experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems

· Can demonstrate strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability in a production environment

· Is mobile and has own reliable transport

Preferred/Advantageous:

Previous experience working within an FMCG manufacturing environment is advantageous

Shift/Hours:

This position requires shift rotation, rotating 3-on/3-off 12-hour shift pattern

Pay: R50 000,00 - R60 000,00 per month
