Job description
Crane & Hoist Technician (Electrician / Millwright / LMI)
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Crane & Hoist Technician and a Registered Lifting Machinery Inspector (L.M.I.) to join our newly established Cape Town branch. This role is ideal for a motivated, hands-on individual with strong technical ability and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Trade Test Certificate (Red Seal – Electrician or Millwright)
- Registered L.M.I. registered with ECSA in multiple disciplines
- Valid, unendorsed driver’s licence
- Contactable references
Experience & Skills:
- Proven experience working with overhead cranes, hoists, and lifting equipment
- Experience in inspection, maintenance, and load testing of lifting equipment
- Strong knowledge of:
- Electric motors and control gear
- Variable Speed Drives (VSDs)
- Electrical panel building and fault finding
- Machanical repairs on geared motors, brake assemblies and hoist repairs
- Good organisational and planning skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High level of reliability, professionalism, and attention to safety
