Millwright

Overview The Millwright is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing and improving mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure safe, reliable and efficient plant operations. The role supports production by reducing equipment downtime, resolving breakdowns, executing planned maintenance, and ensuring all work is completed in line with safety, quality and engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Completes machinery and equipment safety assessments in line with MESS requirements.
• Performs medium-voltage, low-voltage and high-tension electrical switching, maintenance and fault-finding.
• Ensures electrical and mechanical legal compliance, including Certificates of Compliance, inspections and required sign-offs.
• Leads the repair, installation, replacement and testing of electrical circuits, equipment and appliances.
• Diagnoses and repairs complex electrical and mechanical faults across process, packaging, palletising and utilities equipment.
• Plans and executes major electrical outages to minimise operational disruption.
• Provides technical input on electrical design, equipment specifications, safety standards and process improvements.
• Maintain and controlled electrical drawings and supports preventative maintenance inspections with the Engineering team.

Qualifications

• Qualified and trade-tested Millwright with electrical work experience. (8-10 years)
• N6 qualification in electrical and mechanical engineering.
• Packaging experience (FMCG)
• High-tension switching certification or competence.
• MESS Level 3 qualification.
• Computer literate, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems such as SAP
