Job Advert Summary
The main purpose is to do preventative maintenance and breakdown cover for the department. Your role is to make sure that all machines operate properly, and our facilities remain safe. You will also make use of specialized tools to build and repair machines as well as be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery and equipment.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or technical Matric
- Trade Test (Millwright)
- 3 - 4 years’ relevant post trade experience as a Millwright
- Experience in the manufacturing and sewing environment would be highly beneficial
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in the maintenance of specialized machines
- Work in a team and ensure the complete functioning of all machinery
- Strong knowledge of electromechanical manufacturing processes
- Assisting with an accurate bill of materials
- Ensure suppliers compliances to high standard of parts needed
- Maintain and test all equipment / machinery to ensure functionality, safety and availability to complete work within the specified timeframe and budgetary limits
- Ensure that components causing excessive downtime are identified and permanent solutions are found and implemented
- Perform Condition Based Maintenance on equipment
- Be responsible for the diagnosis, testing and repair of electrical and mechanical failures on equipment
- Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in the maintenance of specialized machines

Duties and responsibilities are, however, are not limited to this, all reasonable and lawful requests within your scope of work/abilities given by management are to be followed whether this is inside or outside the factories.
