The Thaba Joint Venture (JV), which is a JV between Sylvania Metals and Limberg Mining Company, is looking for a qualified and experienced Millwright to join our Engineering team. The successful incumbent will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, installing, and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operation.

Minimum Requirements

• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum N2 Engineering Studies.
• Certified Trade Test in Millwright (Sections 13 and 26D) is mandatory.
• At least 5 years of post-trade experience in mining, manufacturing, or processing plant environments.
• Proven expertise in the maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Demonstrated experience with slurry pump maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Valid Code 8 driver's license with reliable own transportation.
• Willingness to work shift patterns, including standby and overtime as operationally required.
• Residency in the local area or readiness to relocate to Thaba JV (Thabazimbi) operations.
• Strong safety focus and adherence to workplace health and safety standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled, preventive, and corrective maintenance on plant machinery and equipment to ensure optimal operation.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system faults efficiently.
• Install, commission, and test new equipment, ensuring compliance with design and operational standards.
• Conduct regular inspections and condition monitoring to preemptively detect potential equipment failures.
• Adhere to engineering standards, operating procedures, and maintenance schedules to maintain system integrity.
• Accurately complete job cards, maintenance reports, and all related documentation in a timely manner.
• Participate in production shutdown planning and execution to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
• Collaborate on equipment modifications and continuous improvement projects to enhance performance and reliability.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment in accordance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Support production teams by ensuring the highest level of equipment availability and operational readiness.
