Aon South Africa is recruiting a National Bid Manager in our Sales Enablement team based, on a hybrid basis, from our Head Office in Sandton. The National Bid Manager is responsible for leading the end-to-end national bid function, improving bid quality, supporting growth objectives and strengthening governance across short-term insurance tenders.Aon is in the business of better decisions

Bid Planning
- Review and find opportunities for Aon through review on Online Tender opportunities and receipt of RFP’s.
- Adoption of Aon global bid and proposal management process.
- Implement bid management process on Aon Connect.
Team coordination
- Assemble and lead the bid team in coordination with Solution Lines and Executives.
- Assign tasks, set deadlines, and ensure effective collaboration for the delivery of completed RFP’s.
Proposal Development
- Proposal development includes the collation writing, editing, and reviewing of proposal content.
- Ensure that all proposals align with client and Aon requirements.
- Ensure proposals are tailored to client needs.
- Leverage global content and develop reusable content for bids.
- Work with marketing team to drive tailored cover and proposal design.
Compliance Management
- Ensure that all proposals align with regulations including checking for adherence to submission guidelines, formatting, and legal requirements.
- Manage bid related company documentation and certificates.
Bid Submission
- Lead the submission process, ensuring that proposals are delivered on time and in the required format. This may include electronic submissions, physical delivers, or both.
- Liaise with suppliers for external printing requirements.
- Ensures reports, presentations, etc. are correctly branded according to corporate identity guidelines.
Post-Submission Activities
- Handle post-submission activities where required, including response to client queries, and debriefing on bid outcomes.
- Drive bid outcome feedback.
- Participates and contributes towards team initiatives.
- Maintains personal and professional development.

Qualifications.* Be in possession of Grade 12 (matric).
- Project Management Certificate will be an added advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree would be an advantage.
- Certificate for In-Design / Illustrator / Photoshop / Coral Draw advantageous or willing to learn
Knowledge.* Ability to develop detailed bid plans, manage timelines, and coordinate multiple tasks and team members effectively.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure smooth bid development and submission.
- Knowledge of short-term insurance
Skills and Attributes.* Good interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Be computer literate with advanced experience in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong writing skills to create clear, compelling, and persuasive proposal content that meets client requirements.
- Effective verbal communication skills for leading team meetings, presenting proposals, and interacting with stakeholders.
- Be dependable and respect confidentiality.
- Have a high work ethic and must have the ability to function effectively under pressure.
- Be a team player, can build good relationships, support, and actively participate in, and contribute to any team initiatives.
Experience
- Have a proven experience in a related role.
- Experience in InDesign will be an added advantage.
