Natural Hair Salon Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and hardworking Salon Assistant to support the daily operations of our salon. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming salon environment, assisting stylists with hair preparation services, and providing excellent customer service to ensure an exceptional client experience.

Key Responsibilities

Salon Cleanliness & Organisation

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene throughout the salon at all times.
• Clean and sanitize the wash station, styling stations, tools, and equipment.
• Ensure toilets/restrooms are clean, stocked, and presentable.
• Wash, dry, fold, and organize salon towels.
• Keep workstations, product shelves, and common areas neat and organized.
• Dispose of waste and maintain salon hygiene standards.

Client Experience

• Welcome and greet guests in a warm and professional manner.
• Assist clients with seating and preparation for services.
• Offer refreshments and ensure clients feel comfortable throughout their visit.
• Help create a positive and inviting salon atmosphere.

Hair Service Support

• Prepare clients for hair services as directed by stylists.
• Shampoo, condition, and rinse clients' hair.
• Assist with deep conditioning, hydration, and hair treatment services.
• Detangle natural hair carefully and efficiently.
• Section hair and prepare clients for braiding, twisting, or styling services.
• Assist with product application as instructed by stylists.

Braiding & Finishing Assistance

• Support stylists during braiding appointments.
• Assist with finishing braids and ensuring neat presentation.
• Install beads, curls, and other decorative finishing elements.
• Help prepare extensions, hair accessories, and styling materials.

Requirements

• Passion for natural hair care and beauty services.
• Basic knowledge of natural hair maintenance and treatments is required
• Should be a fast braider.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks.
• Previous salon experience is an advantage

Working Hours

• Including weekends , public holidays and peak salon hours as required.

Pay: From R3 750,00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Randpark Ridge, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
