Job description
We are sourcing for a Network and Security Engineer (Intermediate) role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and Internet connectivity solutions.
- Administer and support network devices, including routers, switches, wireless controllers, and firewalls.
- Monitor network performance, availability, and security, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Configure and maintain firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and network security policies.
- Support Identity and Access Management (IAM), network access control (NAC), and secure authentication solutions.
- Perform network troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and incident resolution for connectivity and security issues.
- Conduct routine vulnerability assessments and implement security patches and configuration hardening.
- Assist with the implementation of network upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvement projects.
- Maintain network monitoring, logging, and reporting solutions.
- Develop and maintain network diagrams, technical documentation, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with cloud, infrastructure, and security teams to implement secure networking solutions.
- Ensure compliance with organizational security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in disaster recovery testing and business continuity planning.
Requirements
- National Diploma in IT or Certificate (NQF 6) or equivalent
- IT Networks certification (Cisco: CCNA or equivalent)
- Microsoft Azure Network Engineer Associate
- FortiGate Network Security Expert (advantageous).
- HPE Aruba Networking certification (advantageous).
- ITIL foundation certification (advantageous).
- 3–5 years of experience in network administration, network engineering, or network security.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise networking technologies and security solutions.
- Experience administering Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Juniper, or equivalent networking platforms.
- Knowledge of enterprise networking concepts, routing, switching, VPNs, wireless networking, and firewalls.
- Basic understanding of cloud networking within AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform environments. For more information please contact:Tebogo Rankhumise
