Are you an experienced network security professional with a passion for protecting infrastructure, applications, and data?

Lesaka Merchant is looking for a NETWORK SECURITY ENGINEER to join our Merchants Operations Division. This role is ideal for a technically skilled individual who can design, implement, and manage network security controls across the enterprise.

Job purpose

To design, implement and manage network security controls, ensuring protection of infrastructure, applications and data through effective firewall, WAF, IDS/IPS and network security configurations.

Key Responsibility Areas

Network Security Control Implementation

• Configure and manage firewalls, WAF and IDS/IPS systems
• Implement network security policies and rules
• Secure network access and segmentation
• Ensure protection of internal and external environments
• Align configurations to security architecture

Threat Prevention & Network Monitoring

• Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity
• Identify and block malicious traffic
• Work with SOC Analyst on threat detection
• Tune security controls to improve effectiveness
• Maintain visibility across network environments

Vulnerability & Security Hardening

• Identify network vulnerabilities
• Apply patches and security updates
• Harden network configurations
• Support vulnerability remediation efforts
• Conduct security assessments

Incident Support & Response

• Support investigation of network-related incidents
• Provide logs and analysis to SOC teams
• Implement containment measures (blocking IPs, isolating segments)
• Assist in root cause analysis
• Support recovery efforts

Security Governance & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with security standards (PCI, SOX)
• Maintain documentation and configurations
• Support audits and evidence collection
• Align network controls with policy
• Monitor third-party access

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Information Systems, IT or related field
• 4–7 years network/security engineering
• Certifications / Advantageous
• Cisco / Fortinet / Palo Alto
• CEH / Security+
