Position: Networking Engineer – LAN/WAN
Role Purpose
Panyanru (Pty) Ltd is seeking a skilled Networking Engineer – LAN/WAN to support the design, implementation, maintenance, and administration of enterprise network infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient network connectivity across client environments while supporting ICT infrastructure and business operations.
The Networking Engineer will assist with installing, configuring, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining network infrastructure, while ensuring compliance with organizational standards and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain LAN, WAN, and wireless network infrastructure.
- Install, configure, and support routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and VPN solutions.
- Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity issues.
- Perform network troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades.
- Configure and maintain routing, switching, and network security solutions.
- Support secure remote access and wireless networking.
- Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and asset records.
- Ensure compliance with ICT security policies and standards.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity activities.
- Work with ICT teams, vendors, and clients during infrastructure projects.
- Provide technical support during network installations, upgrades, and migrations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or National Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Cybersecurity, or a related field (NQF Level 6 or higher).
- Relevant networking certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent will be an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in networking, including LAN/WAN implementation, administration, and support.
- Experience configuring and supporting enterprise networking equipment.
- Good understanding of routing, switching, wireless networking, VPNs, and network security.
- Experience using network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Experience working in enterprise or corporate ICT environments will be an advantage.
