Job description

New Business Sales Executive (SaaS & Tech Sector)

About Blacfox

Blacfox is a strategic marketing consultancy focused primarily on the tech sector. We serve some of the world’s largest brands like Microsoft, SAP, SYSPRO, VMware, and Vodacom. At Blacfox, we dream of a world of impeccable customer service and strive to create a better Africa and a better world by leveraging technology. We see tech providers as our partners and work together to help them thrive so that we can achieve our goal of transforming the digital landscape and prioritizing customer service.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Sales Executive with serious energy — someone who hunts. This is a new business role built around one thing: finding, opening, and closing opportunities in the B2B tech, SaaS, and managed services market.

Your target is your north star. You’ll know your number, know exactly how far you are from it, and know what you’re doing this week to close the gap. You don’t wait for leads to land in your inbox — you go and find them, get to the decision-maker, and ask for the business.

This is not an account management role. Won business hands over cleanly to the team who look after it, and you go straight back out to hunt. Experience in SaaS, managed IT services, or technology solutions environments is highly valued — pace, resilience, and self-drive are non-negotiable.

One condition, stated up front: This role provides a basic monthly salary, along with a lucrative commission structure that is earned via weekly target attainment. You hit your weekly activity numbers, you qualify for that week’s commission. Miss them, you don’t. We track it, you see it, there are no surprises. If a weekly scoreboard is not how you like to work, this role will not fit you.

If you’re the person who picks up the phone, chases the meeting, and lives on the scoreboard — someone who treats a no as one step closer to a yes and makes the next call anyway — this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

Hunting New Business

  • Generate your own pipeline from a standing start — cold outreach, calls, social selling, networking, events, and referrals
  • Prospect relentlessly into your target market, building and working lists of accounts worth winning
  • Get past the gatekeeper to the real decision-maker and secure first meetings with senior stakeholders
  • Open conversations with people who have never heard of Blacfox, and earn the right to the next one
  • Keep the top of the funnel full at all times, so quarter-end never rests on a single deal
  • Move fast on every warm signal — speed of response is a competitive advantage

Owning the Number

  • Build every week around the target: what you need to open, progress, and close to stay ahead of it
  • Build and work a quarterly and annual sales plan designed to beat target, not merely reach it
  • Forecast honestly, commit to what you will land, and then land it
  • Discuss pricing with confidence and negotiate terms without flinching
  • Push for a clear next step in every conversation — no meeting ends without one
  • Close with urgency and professionalism, and recognise early when a deal is never going to close

Discovery, Pitching & Closing

  • Run a proper discovery conversation: ask hard, probing questions and listen for the real problem underneath the stated one
  • Play the client’s problem back to them with clarity and precision so they know they have been heard and understood
  • Position Blacfox’s solutions against the problem you uncovered, not off a generic script
  • Handle objections on your feet, stay composed under pressure, and keep the deal moving
  • Present and write with impact — pitches, proposals, and follow-ups that get decisions made
  • Stay current on the IT, SaaS, and technology landscape so you can hold a credible commercial conversation with any stakeholder

Pipeline Discipline & Reporting

  • Keep the CRM accurate and current every day — if it isn’t in the CRM, it didn’t happen
  • Track activity, conversion rates, and pipeline coverage against target, and shift your effort where the numbers tell you to
  • Report on pipeline health, forecast, and sales activity to leadership without being asked
  • Spot patterns in wins, losses, and recurring objections, and feed them back to sharpen the pitch
  • Complete a full handover of won business to the account team — context, commitments, and expectations — so nothing is lost in translation

Skill Requirements

  • Hunting Track Record: 3+ years in a new business B2B sales role carrying a personal target you consistently hit — self-generated pipeline, not an inherited book of accounts
  • Energy & Drive: High output, high tempo, and comfortable with the sheer volume of activity that new business demands
  • Resilience: Sustains high activity through repeated rejection without losing momentum
  • Closing Confidence: Raises price early and holds firm on value when pushed
  • SaaS & Tech Fluency Preferred: Confident engaging senior stakeholders on SaaS platforms, managed IT services, cloud solutions, and marketing technology
  • Discovery & Commercial Judgement: Qualifies hard and spends time only where there is a deal worth winning
  • Ownership & Execution: Takes full accountability for the number, learns fast, and delivers without needing to be chased
  • CRM Proficiency: Experienced using a CRM as a daily operating tool rather than an afterthought

Why Join Us?

  • Sell for a forward-thinking, AI-powered, data-driven growth agency
  • Sell on the back of work already delivered for globally recognised technology brands
  • Hunt in a market with real appetite, across Africa and beyond
  • Clear targets, clear expectations, and recognition for the people who beat them
  • Delivery teams behind you who make good on what you sell
  • Room to grow quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Professional development and career growth opportunities

At Blacfox, we value our people and we value our business. We create a space where individuals can be authentic, grow in confidence, and build strong working relationships. We work hard, but we also make room for enjoyment—because when people feel safe, supported, and inspired, they do their best work.

How to Apply

If you meet the above requirements and you’re ready to own a number and go hunt the business behind it, we’d love to hear from you.
