About the Role

Daily Wilkins is looking for a passionate and reliable News Reporter to cover news from across South Africa. The successful candidate will research, verify facts, write clear and accurate news articles, and help deliver credible journalism for our digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor breaking news and current events across South Africa.
• Research, verify, and fact-check information before publication.
• Write clear, accurate, and engaging news articles.
• Conduct interviews with relevant sources when required.
• Follow up on developing stories and provide updates.
• Maintain high standards of journalistic ethics and accuracy.
• Work independently while meeting daily deadlines.
• Demonstrate leadership by taking initiative and contributing story ideas.

Requirements

• Excellent English writing and communication skills.
• Strong research and fact-checking abilities.
• Good understanding of South African current affairs.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Self-motivated, organised, and detail-oriented.
• Previous journalism or news writing experience is an advantage but not essential.
