Night Shift Warehouse Manager

Special Steels is looking for an experienced and reliable Nightshift Warehouse Manager to manage warehouse, production, loading and dispatch activities and supervise staff during the night shift.

Working Hours: Sunday to Thursday, 18:00–06:00, with occasional Fridays when operationally required.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise warehouse and production staff during the night shift.
• Conduct floor walks and coordinate daily/nightly production priorities.
• Ensure operators work according to production plans, picking slips and special instructions.
• Monitor productivity, quality, housekeeping and staff discipline.
• Plan deliveries and collections and coordinate truck loading.
• Perform QC checks to ensure materials and quantities correspond with loading sheets and invoices.
• Complete partial and full invoicing and maintain accurate paperwork.
• Communicate stock shortages and outstanding picking slips to Sales.
• Ensure machinery and equipment are used correctly and report breakdowns or faults.
• Maintain and update warehouse floor and rack plans.
• Complete shift reports and communicate operational, delivery, equipment and staff-related issues.
• Assist with stock takes and Drawing Office requirements when necessary.
• Ensure all health, safety and housekeeping requirements are maintained.
• Complete IOD documentation and assist with workplace injury procedures when required.

Minimum Requirements

• Proven warehouse management/supervisory experience is essential.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• Excellent administration and record-keeping skills.
• Strong work ethic, leadership, planning and organisational abilities.
• Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for the night shift.
• Reliable personal transport is essential.

Advantageous

• SolidWorks experience.
• SigmaNEST experience.
• Knowledge of nesting and plate optimisation.
• Experience with production planning, invoicing, dispatch and stock control.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a hands-on manager. The successful candidate must be comfortable managing staff on the warehouse floor, maintaining discipline, solving operational problems and ensuring production and dispatch requirements are achieved during the shift.

Pay: R35 000,00 - R40 000,00 per month
