• Degree or Diploma, in Procurement, Purchasing Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Management, Commerce, Economics or related, relevant professional qualification such as MCIPs
• Minimum of 8 years procurement experience, at least 3 of which in a corporate multinational and 5 of which in strategic sourcing or category management
• Experience with any major ERP system?

Duties and Responsibilities

• Build and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders, including Heads of Finance, taking full accountability for business partnering with assigned Business Units
• Design holistic group Category Strategies, engaging with stakeholders to define and address priorities and establish multi-year plans to maximize contract value and mitigate risk.
• Solicit stakeholder insights to understand critical business priorities, ensuring group priorities as well as regional requirements are met in a collaborative manner and strategies account for short- and long-term business needs.
• Diagnose breadth of supply risk and ensure continuity of supply through appropriate risk mitigation.
• Drive transformation of Woolworths' Supply Base in accordance with Enterprise and Supplier Development imperatives and Sustainability targets.
• Formulate annual Sourcing Plan with key stakeholders, securing approval for and commitment to achieving project timelines and benefit targets, ensuring on-time execution and implementation.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization to design group Sourcing Strategies, targeting reduced total costs, optimizing supplier value and meeting internal customer requirements and, where appropriate, incorporating Corporate Sustainability measures.
• Consult with relevant subject matter experts before finalizing Sourcing Strategies, ensuring no new hazards are introduced nor relevant legislation breached when implement initiatives, systems, products, equipment or designs.
• Conduct thorough spend analysis to identify new sourcing and other cost optimization opportunities, developing methodology, metrics and tools to monitor client and supplier compliance with supplier agreements and track progress.
• Clearly define service level expectations and requirements to assess current suppliers and identify potential vendors.
• Perform market research, developing industry and supplier category profiles and managing supplier discovery, evaluation and screening processes.
• Create and establish internal and external benchmark analysis, including gap analysis, and required actions to achieve advantage.
• Challenge single/sole source justifications and engage in market shaping activities to develop sources of supply.
• Develop best practices sourcing methodology, generating actionable solutions to overcome obstacles and inefficiencies.
• Lead cross-organizational project teams to work collaboratively and accomplish a common goal.
• Execute Sourcing Strategies for the high spend/complexity/risk strategic categories.
• Ensure key stakeholders have been involved in the decision-making process, endorse recommendations and actively engage in the change management process.
• Ensure good governance is consistently applied, evaluating potential vendors in an equitable manner with due consideration for preferential procurement imperatives and maintaining thorough records pertaining to vendor appointment and terms of engagement
• Design and execute negotiation strategy to minimise life-cycle expenses.
• Partner and influence across the lines of business to ensure successful implementation and support change management to ensure adoption.
• Conclude contracts with appointed suppliers in partnership with the Legal department ahead of implementation.
• Optimise contractual agreements to minimize risk and cost.
• Provide strategic guidance to Total Cost of Ownership models used to support sourcing decisions.
• Partner key stakeholders in supplier performance reviews at appropriate intervals against agreed standards and manage delivery to remedial plans.
• Effectively action and manage any critical supply issues that have been escalated from the BUs and initiate / implement permanent corrective actions to ensure no re-occurrence.
• Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships as defined by supplier segmentation strategy, collaboratively driving value through innovation, mitigating risk and maximizing value.
• Develop global Tail-Spend Management (TSM) Strategy
• Strengthen supplier relationships through supplier consolidation, with due regard for Enterprise and Supplier Development priorities.
• Support the evolution of the Source to Pay (S2P) framework and vision for change in business processes, technology and strategies, collaborating with stakeholders to explore ways to improve and innovate.
• Support strategic S2P initiatives, supplier analysis and market intelligence activities.
