NRG 79/26 Professional Officer
Requirements
- BSc (Eng) / BSc Eng / BEng degree in Electrical Engineering
- Registered Candidate Engineer with ECSA
- At least three (3) to five (5) years’ relevant postgraduate
experience
- Detailed knowledge of the Occupational Health and
Safety Act and Regulations
- Financial analysis and competency in using SAP
- A high degree of computer literacy.
Special Conditions and physical requirements:
- Code B driver’s licence
- Required to work in all weather conditions
- Required to work outside normal working hours as demanded
by the exigencies of service
- Required to use own transport for which an appropriate
Transport Allowance will be payable
- Physically fit.
Key Performance Areas
- Conduct research and investigations to obtain information for
the design of high volage network infrastructure
- Disseminate results of research and investigations to e.g.
Functional Manager, Branch Manager, fellow professionals
in Operational Branches within the Department by means of
written reports and meetings
- Apply a body of professional knowledge coupled with experience
to plan, design/develop and implement a full range of
programmes, systems, policies and practices in relation to
the professional discipline within the Transmission System
Development Section to effect service delivery to customers
- Manage approved projects and associated contracts for
extensions to and replacement of equipment on the
high voltage system as well as complex projects for other
branches.
- Communicate with fellow professionals as well as internal and
external clients to work on issues of common interest and
to share information.
- Compile and manage documents of a complex and involved
