Nursing Manager / Matron – Psychiatric Hospital
Zensai Wellness is seeking an experienced, professional and compassionate Nursing Manager / Matron to join our team at our psychiatric hospital.
PositionNursing Manager / Matron Salary R35,000 per month Gross.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide effective leadership and management of the nursing department.
- Oversee the delivery of safe, high-quality and patient
-centred nursing care.
- Supervise, support and manage nursing staff and ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Department of Health, Mental Health Care Act, nursing and healthcare standards.
- Monitor clinical documentation, medication management, patient care plans and nursing practices.
- Ensure effective implementation of infection prevention and control measures.
- Manage and monitor clinical incidents, risk management and patient safety.
- Conduct regular nursing audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, doctors, psychologists, occupational therapists and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in staff training, performance management and professional development.
- Ensure that nursing policies, procedures and protocols are consistently followed.
- Promote a safe, respectful and therapeutic environment for patients.
Requirements
- Registered Professional Nurse with SANC.
- Valid SANC registration.
- Relevant nursing management qualification will be advantageous.
- Previous experience in a psychiatric hospital, mental health facility or rehabilitation setting.
- Proven nursing management or supervisory experience.
- Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
- Sound knowledge of clinical governance, patient safety and healthcare compliance.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Professional, compassionate and patient-focused approach.
