Job Purpose To promote and maintain a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace within the Pies & Pastries Linbro manufacturing operation by implementing SHE policies, monitoring compliance with legal and company requirements, reducing workplace risks, and fostering a strong safety culture to protect employees, products, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and legal requirements at the site.
• Conduct SHE inspections, audits, risk assessments, and support legal appointments.
• Monitor and promote safe working practices, including PPE compliance and behavioural safety initiatives

• Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Deliver SHE training, awareness programmes, and support safety committee activities.
• Collect, analyse, and report SHE performance data.
• Support environmental sustainability initiatives ,including waste reduction and recycling.
• Coordinate and participate in internal and external SHE audits.
• Work closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and other stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.
• Maintain SHE records, reports and compliance documentation.

Experience And Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Diploma or BTech in Safety Management.
• SAMTRAC qualification or certificate.
• 2-3 years experience in FMCG or food manufacturing.
• Experience in SHE compliance, audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and explain health and safety matters to employees at all levels.
• Sound knowledge of occupational health and safety principles and legislation.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong product and process knowledge (or ability to learn quickly)
• Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to breakdowns.
• Good planning and organising skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Computer literate.
