SUMMARY: A well-established company from the engineering and manufacturing industry located in East Rand is seeking an Occupational Health and Safety Officer. POSITION INFO: Minimum Requirements Minimum 1-2 years' experience in an OHS-related role OHS qualification or currently studying towards an OHS qualification (preferred) Good understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act Experience within the engineering, manufacturing or industrial environment would be advantageous Strong administrative and organisational skills Computer literate (Microsoft Office) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport Key Responsibilities Assist with implementing and maintaining the company's OHS policies and procedures Conduct workplace inspections and identify potential hazards Assist with risk assessments and incident investigations Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and company standards Maintain OHS records, registers and documentation Coordinate safety training and inductions Monitor the use of PPE and promote a strong safety culture Assist with internal and external safety audits Liaise with management regarding health and safety matters Provide general OHS administrative support
