Life Orientation Tutor – Grades 4–12

Position Overview
We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Online Life Orientation Tutor to provide academic support to learners from Grade 4 to Grade 12 in a fully online learning environment.
The tutor will assist learners with understanding Life Orientation concepts, completing activities and preparing for assessments, while providing encouragement and general academic support.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct online Life Orientation tutoring sessions according to an agreed schedule.
- Support learners from Grade 4–12 with Life Orientation concepts and coursework.
- Explain concepts clearly and in a manner appropriate to the learner's age and grade.
- Assist learners with tasks, activities, projects and assessment preparation.
- Monitor learner participation and identify areas where additional support is required.
- Provide constructive feedback and encourage learner engagement.
- Maintain appropriate records of tutoring sessions and learner progress.
- Communicate professionally with the academic team regarding learner progress or concerns.
- Follow the school's academic, assessment and learner-support procedures.
- Assist with other reasonable academic support activities when required.
Requirements
- Relevant teaching, tutoring or educational experience.
- Good knowledge of Life Orientation across Grades 4–12.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Comfortable working with learners in an online environment.
- Good computer literacy and reliable internet access.
- Patient, organised and approachable.
- Ability to work independently and according to a schedule.
- Teaching qualification or relevant educational experience would be advantageous.
Working Arrangements
- Flexible part-time position, depending on learner requirements.
- Online tutoring conducted according to an agreed timetable.
- Based in or around Parkhurst, Johannesburg preferred.
- Additional hours may be available depending on learner demand.

Reporting
The tutor will report to the Academic / Teacher Manager and work within the school's broader academic support team.
Pay: R450,00 - R500,00 per day
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Randburg, Gauteng
