Job description
We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and highly organized IT Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting and maintaining our customers IT infrastructures, troubleshooting technical issues, updating systems, and providing hands-on support to end users. The ideal candidate will be customer-focused, technically skilled, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment..
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, network, and cloud-based systems.
- Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade IT equipment and software.
- Monitor and update systems to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Assist users with technical issues both remotely and onsite.
- Document incidents, resolutions, and technical procedures.
- Escalate complex issues where necessary and ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism.
Requirements
- Strong personality with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Professional, courteous, and customer-focused approach.
- Excellent verbal, written, and reporting communication skills.
- Strong telephone etiquette and communication skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve multiple technical issues efficiently.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize workloads, and manage time effectively.
- Comfortable working in a diverse, collaborative, and fast-paced environment.
- Goal-oriented and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Physically able to stand, bend, squat, and lift IT equipment when required.
Education
- Matric / Grade 12 (High School Certification).
Certifications
- CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ certification preferred.
- Equivalent IT certifications such as Microsoft certifications will be considered.
- Cloud certifications relating to Microsoft 365 and Azure will be advantageous.
Experience
- Previous experience in a Helpdesk, Desktop Support, IT Support, or Technical Support role.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
- Experience troubleshooting PCs, laptops, printers, and networking equipment.
- Experience with online helpdesk or CRM systems.
Advantageous Skills and Experience
- Windows Server installation, configuration, administration, and support (Server 2012, 2016, 2019, and later).
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
- Hyper-V and VMware installation, configuration, and management.
- Network administration and server support experience.
- Microsoft Office proficiency (relevant certifications advantageous).
- Additional cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, etc.).
- Project coordination or office administration experience.
