Job description
Inhle Beverages is looking for an experienced, hands-on Operational HR Manager to lead the full generalist HR function at our Heidelberg plant. You'll be the site's go-to person for everything people-related — from managing our relationship with GIWUSA and running monthly management–union meetings, to keeping our Employment Equity, Workplace Skills, and B-BBEE reporting airtight. This is a role for someone who is as comfortable coordinating a disciplinary hearing and ensuring it's run fairly as they are pulling together a clean people metrics pack for the HR Manager.
What You'll Be Doing
- Being the first point of call for line managers on all people-related matters — performance, conduct, absenteeism, and everyday HR queries.
- Leading workforce planning for the site, and managing workforce reduction processes where these become necessary.
- Managing the day-to-day relationship with GIWUSA and coordinating monthly management–union meetings.
- Coordinating disciplinary and grievance hearings, ensuring substantive and procedural fairness, and advising line managers on defensible process.
- Owning statutory compliance: Employment Equity Plan, Workplace Skills Plan, and B-BBEE transformation reporting.
- Drafting site-specific HR practices and policy where Heidelberg needs differ from Group policy.
- Reporting people metrics to the HR Manager monthly and quarterly.
- Running recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding for the site.
- Supporting talent management and development planning.
- Keeping our Psiber HRIS data accurate and audit-ready.
- Driving employee engagement and social initiatives on-site.
What You'll Need
- A Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in HR, Industrial Psychology, or Labour Relations.
- 5–8 years' generalist HR experience, including at least 3 years in a unionised manufacturing/FMCG environment, with a solid understanding of manufacturing/production operations.
- Solid, practical experience coordinating disciplinary/grievance hearings and union engagement.
- Experience with workforce planning and workforce reduction strategies (Section 189/189A processes).
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical ability — essential. Power BI experience strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of the LRA, BCEA, EEA, Skills Development Act, and B-BBEE Codes.
- HRIS experience — Psiber advantageous.
- A valid driver's licence and own transport.
