Operations Controller

Transport Logistics Company is seeking a proactive, organised, and detail-oriented Operations Coordinator to join our operations team based in Southern Suburbs Cape Town (Bergvliet)

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating daily transport operations, processing container releases, managing transport documentation, and ensuring the efficient movement of containers while maintaining excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily transport operations and container movements.
• Capture ANF`s and Releases.
• Generate Container Terminal Orders.
• Manage bookings on the Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) Truck Appointment System.
• Book collections and deliveries with depots and customers.
• Liaise with customers, shipping lines, depots, drivers, subcontractors, and internal departments.
• Monitor vehicle movements and proactively manage delays and operational issues.
• Ensure all transport documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time.
• Track containers and provide customers with regular updates.
• Maintain accurate operational records and reports.
• Assist with daily planning and scheduling of vehicles.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, customer requirements, and transport regulations.
• Provide administrative support to the Operations Team.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric (essential).
• Minimum 2–3 years' experience in container transport, logistics, or transport operations.
• Must have working knowledge and practical daily experience using the Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) Truck Appointment/Booking System.
• Experience processing container releases with shipping lines.
• Experience with depot bookings and transport documentation.
• Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word).
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Must have reliable own transport to and from work.
• Must be based in or near Bergvliet or the Southern Suburbs.
• Must be willing to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays, when operationally required.

Pay: R17 500,00 - R18 500,00 per month
