Operations Data Analyst

Salary: Up to R25,000 per month

Location: Foreshore, Cape Town

Working hours: UK hours

Working arrangement: Office-based – no remote or hybrid working available

About the role

We're looking for a Data Analyst to support data checking, analysis and reporting across a range of operational projects.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working with data, spotting errors and investigating anything that doesn't look right. Accuracy and attention to detail are more important here than having a heavily technical or data science background.

What you'll be doing

• Checking and validating data for accuracy
• Investigating data issues and exceptions
• Working with large spreadsheets and datasets
• Preparing reports and supporting management information
• Carrying out quality checks on client deliverables
• Maintaining data and project files
• Supporting dashboards and reporting
• Following data processing instructions
• Identifying trends, inconsistencies and potential errors
• Supporting improvements to data and reporting processes
• Working with the wider operational and technical teams

What we're looking for

• 2–4 years' experience in data analysis, data quality, reporting or a similar role
• Strong Excel skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Comfortable working with large amounts of data
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and spoken English
• Able to investigate an issue rather than simply flagging it
• Experience with Power BI, SQL or GIS would be beneficial but isn't essential

Experience in operations, transport/traffic data, market research, quality assurance or another data-heavy environment would be useful.

This is an operational Data Analyst role and would suit someone with strong Excel and data-quality experience.

This role is based in the GOTO Group office in Foreshore, Cape Town and requires UK working hours. There is no remote or hybrid working available.

Pay: Up to R25 000,00 per month

• Data analysis or data quality: 2 years (Required)
• Advanced Excel and large datasets: 2 years (Required)
• Data checking and validation: 2 years (Required)
• Investigating data errors or exceptions: 1 year (Required)
• Preparing reports and management information: 1 year (Required)
