We are offering an exciting opportunity for the position of Operations Management Systems FC Lead. In this position you will play a crucial role to support our vision of becoming a Great place to work for all.
Role Outline
- Implement Operations Management System First Choice (OMS FC) culture / routines & the Smart Resource Management (Smart ReM) suite of tools into agreed sites in the country/ cluster
- Lead the Country/Cluster Continuous Improvement & Innovation agenda
- Support / coach the Country/Cluster Senior Leadership Team members to ensure common understanding of OMS FC & their role to ensure sustainable OMS FC implementations in country/ cluster
- Support / coach the Site Leadership Teams (First Line Leaders to Site Leader level + Support Staff + OMS FC Champion) to ensure they understand that they own & must sustain OMS FC implementation for their site
- Lead the OMS FC Expert Team comprising of OMS FC Advisors, Smart Rem Engineers, FC (CI) Engineers, on the standards of OMS FC, Smart ReM, use of First Choice (CI)
- Methodology / tools during implementation and in the sustain phase.
- Responsible for the overall program management of OMS FC / Smart ReM implementations/AD Innovation/CI in the cluster/ country including the up-to-date deployment planning in line with the regional expectations and status reporting of the different programs as needed
Key Accountabilities
- Attend Monthly OMS FC Regional Leads meeting & Weekly OMS FC Community Calls
- Attend Monthly Africa AD Innovation calls & Monthly Global AD Innovation update calls
- Create OMS FC Silver / Gold Audit plans for the next year & provide updates to regional team as needed for the current years’ plans
- Share / update annual OMS FC deployment plans with the OMS FC regional leads
- Liaise with OMS FC Directors regarding OMS FC4Implementer, OMS4Advisor & OMS Engineer training as needed
- Attend any ad hoc calls with the Africa OMS FC Director
- Participlate, support & provide insights into any ad hoc global/regional improvement initiatives
- Actively share their own lessons learnt & best practices with the OMS FC community
- Support global development efforts of OMS FC and its tools
- Co-facilitate OMS4Implementers, OMS4Advisors and OMS4Leaders trainings when asked and able
Drive Implementation of OMS FC at Country/ Cluster level
- Create annual OMS FC Deployment Plan, including the phased implementation of the Smart ReM tool, (Smart Resource Management), align these plans as needed with the Senior Leadership Team & the related communication strategy; to introduce OMS FC and Smart ReM topic to existing and new clients as needed
- Ensure all Senior Leadership Team members are OMS4Leaders certified. Onboard new members on OMS4Leaders training to ensure that the culture created is understood and inherited to new leadership members
- Coach Senior Leadership Team on their role to drive changes in the business in line with OMS FC & Smart ReM standards and routines; to understand the importance of Continuous Improvement; towards standardization in operations regardless of these having OMS FC implemented
- Encourage the Senior Leadership Team to establish Resource Management / Planning practices using OMS FC routines and Smart ReM to increase the effectiveness of Resource Management in their area of responsibility, based on global DSC standards.
- Encourage Senior Leadership Team to use performance data provided by OMS FC to optimize resources, reduce waste, close performance gaps through which the country/ cluster can maximize its performance potential.
- Train Business Development, Solutions Design and Project Delivery Teams to ensure that new business proposals/projects include budget for & start with OMS FC from Day 1 with Smart ReM solution
- Train all supporting functions on the principles of OMS FC to ensure they understand their role in supporting/implementing/sustaining the OMS FC culture & Smart ReM
- Report the status of implementations, and maintains an accurate KPI reporting for all key measures on site/country/cluster level
- Identify / escalate issues related with developing the OMS FC organization and infrastructure.
- Share best practices within the regional OMS FC community and implement best practices within the country/ cluster
- Maintain an effective communication plan both internally towards the Leadership and employees and externally towards the customers
Support Country/Cluster with finding/selecting AD/Innovations
- Manage the AD portfolio for Africa as necessary
- Share / update annual Innovation deployment plans with the Regional Innovation Lead
- Through the Smart ReM Engineer ensure AD / Innovation Reporting portals are updated for all implementations for Africa.
- Liaise with Operational Business Unit Directors, General Managers & Site Leaders as needed to ensure alignment with innovation
- Support Operations to determine viability of proposed Innovation solutions
Interactions within the OE Team
- Establish & ensure that the OMS FC Expert Team, (OMS FC Advisors, Smart ReM Engineer, FC Engineer (CI), & Site OMS FC Champions), are appropriately trained so that they deliver the agreed OMS FC implementation plan, including Smart ReM tool
- Coach the OMS FC Expert Team members to improve their understanding of the standards of OMS FC and Smart ReM with change and stake-holder management during and after the implementation
- Mentor & coach new members of the OMS FC Expert Team in Africa as needed to support implementations
- Align with / report to the OE Cluster Lead on status of OMS FC deployments, CI and Innovation plans, deviations and future plans as needed
- Provide insights to the OE Cluster/Country Teams on OMS FC, Smart ReM, CI and Innovation topics as needed/requested
- Offer CI suggestions to the OE Cluster/Country Team Leads as appropriate
Support the Senior Leadership Team and the OMS FC Experts to MAINTAIN / SUSTAIN THE OMS FC CULTURE
- Ensure that the overall OMS FC standards / culture / routines & the use of the Smart ReM suite of tools is sustained & coach Senior Leadership Team during times of change to sustain these standards/culture/routines
- Provide regular KPI reviews and engage the Senior Leadership Team with suggestions of reviewing goals in line with the Continuous Improvement principles
- Encourage/coach Senior Leadership Team to apply OMS FC principles & lead by example. (i.e. do Audit GEMBAs; use data from Smart Analytics/Smart Plan/CPU dashboard/other Performance tracking solutions to review / drive operations to maximize their performance potential during Monthly MRP meeting with site leaders
- Ensure that the Senior Leadership Team make the right decisions regarding Span of Control and enforce the maintenance of this on every OMS FC site
- Carry out regular OMS FC Confirmation Gembas with the Senior Leadership Team members to identify gaps / non-conformances and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Ensure that the Continuous Improvement topic is on every BRM agenda between the Senior Leadership Team and the Site Leaders; coach the Senior Leadership Team on how Continuous Improvement should be discussed with the Customer on a regular basis
