Operations Manager - Limpopo/Mpumalanga - Farming & Packing Software

Operations Manager - Limpopo/Mpumalanga (can consider people in the Western Cape) - Up to R70k CTC

We're looking for an experienced Operations Manager to become the driving force behind the day-to-day running of our client's farming and packhouse software business. This person will bring structure, accountability and clear communication across the organisation, ensuring that projects, client commitments and internal priorities are delivered efficiently.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background working within the packhouse, fresh produce or farming industry, combined with experience in a software or SaaS environment. They'll understand the operational challenges faced by agricultural businesses while also being comfortable working alongside product, development and customer-facing teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the Client Success, Product and Business Development teams, ensuring everyone is aligned and working towards common objectives.
• Create clear priorities, improve accountability and ensure actions are followed through to completion.
• Identify and remove operational bottlenecks, improving collaboration between departments.
• Oversee client health, chair customer review meetings and manage escalations where required, while working alongside the Client Success team who handle day-to-day customer relationships.
• Coordinate product steering meetings, track actions and keep momentum across development, product and customer teams without owning the product roadmap.
• Take ownership of operational issues, resolving internal challenges and escalating strategic matters to the General Manager when necessary.
• Introduce structure to weekly planning, ensuring meetings are productive, communication is effective and teams remain focused on the right priorities.
• Provide guidance and operational support to the Business Development function, helping ensure opportunities are progressed and followed up.
• Support the General Manager by identifying relevant industry events, partnerships and opportunities, assisting with planning where appropriate.

About You

We're looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive and enjoys bringing people together to get things done. You'll be comfortable working across multiple teams, holding people accountable and ensuring the business operates efficiently.

Ideally you'll have:

• Experience within the packhouse, fresh produce, agriculture or farming industry.
• Experience working for a software, SaaS or technology business.
• A proven background in operations, project coordination or business management.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• The confidence to challenge processes, remove blockers and drive continuous improvement.

The Role

This isn't a traditional operations role focused on logistics or manufacturing. Instead, you'll act as the central point of coordination across the business, ensuring teams communicate effectively, priorities remain aligned and plans are successfully delivered.

Working closely with the General Manager, you'll turn strategy into execution, helping the business operate more efficiently while allowing leadership to remain focused on long-term growth.

Pay: R50 000,00 - R70 000,00 per month
