Job description

Pro-Eco Recycling is seeking an experienced and results-driven Operations / Factory Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our scrap metal recycling facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing production, quality, maintenance, logistics, safety and staff while driving efficiency and continuous improvement across the operation.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage daily production and ensure production targets are achieved.

* Plan, coordinate and optimise all factory and yard operations.

* Oversee quality control to ensure materials meet customer specifications.

* Manage preventative maintenance programmes and coordinate equipment repairs.

* Minimise plant downtime and maximise equipment availability.

* Supervise logistics, including inbound and outbound transport, dispatch and yard flow.

* Manage inventory and stock control of raw materials and finished products.

* Lead, motivate and develop production, maintenance and yard personnel.

* Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation.

* Conduct toolbox talks, safety inspections and incident investigations.

* Monitor production costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

* Prepare daily, weekly and monthly operational reports and KPI dashboards.

* Manage contractors and suppliers where required.

* Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the business.

* Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.

* Ensure site security and implement measures to minimise theft and material losses.

Minimum Requirements

* Minimum 5 years’ experience in an operations, factory or production management role.

* Experience in maintenance, engineering and services.

* Strong leadership and people management skills.

* Sound understanding of production planning, maintenance management and quality control.

* Experience managing large operational teams.

* Knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.

* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Pay: R14 609,48 - R52 947,97 per month
