Job description
Ayeff is looking for an organised, personable and practical Operations & Property Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day running of our residential property and short-term letting portfolio in Cape Town.
This hands-on role combines time at properties with accurate administration and follow-through. You will work closely with the Directors and a small team, helping ensure that properties are well maintained and tenants and guests receive professional, responsive service.
What you will do
- Manage tenant and guest queries, check-ins and check-outs.
- Conduct property inspections and rental viewings.
- Assess maintenance needs, prepare scopes of work and coordinate contractors.
- Source quotations, monitor work and follow repairs through to completion.
- Coordinate cleaners, laundry and property preparation.
- Keep accurate property records and provide regular updates to management.
What you will bring
- 3–5 years’ relevant hands-on experience in residential property management and/or short-term letting.
- Matric, excellent spoken and written English, and strong computer literacy.
- Practical experience with tenants or guests, maintenance and contractors.
- A valid South African driver’s licence and reliable own transport.
- Strong administration, attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently and contribute to a small team.
Short-term letting experience and knowledge of the Atlantic Seaboard, City Bowl and V&A Waterfront are advantageous. The role requires flexibility for after-hours and weekend work, with working hours managed around operational requirements.
