Operations Supervisor

Role Purpose ,

Join Lactalis at our East London DC and take on the challenging role as an Operations Supervisor. In this

role you will be responsible for planning 1 of our 6 key categories. You will help ensure the execution

of the stock build strategy by coordinating the manufacture of our products to satisfy Customers

demand while supporting the functions in the value chain to achieve their respective performance

objectives.

, Requirements ,

National Diploma or equivalent;

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Must have at least 5 years’ experience in Warehouse Supervisor role.
• Knowledge and experience in forklift and warehouse operations.
• Willing to work shifts, overtime, weekends and public holidays.
• Diligence and accuracy in daily functions.
• Punctuality and attendance reliability.
• Must be a team player.
• At least one (1) years’ experience as a Forklift operator.

, Duties and Responsibilities ,

• Allocate equipment, warehouse space and personnel in accordance with warehouse
• Controller's planning schedule.
• Conduct daily operations / toolbox meetings with teams.
• Ensure correct de-stacking, stacking and storage procedures are followed.
• Prioritize orders according to schedule and urgency.
• Perform monthly stock takes and daily cycle counts.
• Oversee accurate documents tallying during operations.
• Ensure that there are contingency SOPs and understanding by team.
• Conduct daily spot checks to ensure warehouse staff adhere to rules and procedures as published in the relevant operations SOP.
• Co-ordinate receiving, put away, storage and issuing activities of stock in a timely and efficient manner.
• Supervise staff in the warehouse to ensure their job activities are performed correctly.
• Supervise general workers to ensure proper handling of stock to avoid damage or accidents.
• Carry out all delegated tasks from warehouse controller
• Motivate team to achieve 100% KPI results.
• Ensure that all SHER-Q regulations are complied with to ensure safe working conditions and
• practices within the warehouse and yard.
• Ensure security procedures are adhered to as per SOP in warehouse at all times and perform daily checks for compliance.
• Ensure that all maintenance checks are completed.
• Complete operational templates from controller.
• Complete all documentation correctly and in a timely manner.
• Counter sign all stock movement documentation, tally sheets and stock take sheets to ensure stock accuracy.
• Complete all handover documentation is complete at beginning and end of shift.
• Provide reports as per Operations Manager and SOP requirements.
• Process receiving, discrepancy, and damage reports as needed.
• Flag all irregularities and concerns during shift in handover document and to the Operations Manager
• Highlight any improvement areas to Operations Manager
• Ensure Cover in the DC and assist with distribution aspects when needed.
