Job description
Job Purpose
To operate tasks relating to the Wet and Dry decontamination facility (WDF/DDF) according to prescribed work procedures, nuclear licence (NIL 06) requirements and SHEQ standards.
Key Performance Areas
Job Requirements
1. Operate the WDF/DDF Decontamination activities
- Ensure the safe operation of the facility by overseeing the uranium limits according to OTS.
- Operate according to prescribed work instructions.
- Receiving of radiological contaminated components
- Steam cleaning of radiological contaminated components.
- Chemical cleaning and drying of components
- Stripping of aluminium fins / scrap and brushing of components
- Degreasing of components
- Sampling of radiological liquids according to OTS limits
- Decontamination of components through submerse in the chemical baths.
- Ensure that uranium components are accepted and cleared according to facility acceptance criteria.
2. Control Decontamination Services processes
- Ensure that the WDF/DDF Decontamination processes conform to nuclear licensing requirements.
- Decontamination of components according to internal work procedures.
- Collection of batch material from Quarantine facility.
- Check the uranium limits at WDF Decontamination to comply with the specification.
- Ensure that uranium components are accepted and cleared according to facility acceptance criteria.

Minimum Qualifications
- Grade12/ Equivalent
Minimum Experience
- Previous exposure or knowledge of working with Chemicals will be an added advantage.
