Optical Frontliner / Receptionist

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Optical Frontliner / Receptionist role based in the City of Cape Town. The role includes welcoming patients, managing check-in and check-out procedures, answering phones, and scheduling appointments. The Optical Frontliner / Receptionist will handle patient inquiries, maintain accurate records, process payments, and support the optometrist with administrative tasks. Daily responsibilities also include managing the reception area, coordinating patient flow, and providing friendly, professional customer service to ensure a smooth practice experience.

Qualifications

• Strong receptionist and front-desk skills, including managing appointments and patient check-in/check-out.
• Professional phone etiquette and confidence in handling incoming and outgoing calls.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a patient-focused and empathetic approach.
• Ability to work full time on-site, manage multiple tasks, and remain organised.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Matric or equivalent educational qualification; additional training in office administration or customer service is beneficial.
