About Us
Bloom Dental Aesthetic is a growing dental and facial aesthetics practice based in Somerset West. Our team of three dentists offers general dentistry, orthodontics, tooth whitening, and facial aesthetics (including toxin treatments, dermal fillers, and frenectomies) across four treatment chairs, supported by an established patient base and a strong local reputation. We're expanding our clinical team and are looking for an Oral Hygienist to join us as we grow.
The Role
You'll run your own chair, delivering hygiene treatments to a steady, growing patient base — with the systems, support, and patient flow of an established, well-organised practice behind you. This is a genuine opportunity to build a full book from day one, not a bolt-on role.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform professional teeth cleaning, scaling, and polishing
- Apply fluoride and other preventive treatments
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, home care, and preventive practices
- Conduct oral health assessments and flag concerns for dentist follow-up
- Maintain accurate patient records on our practice management system (GoodX)
- Uphold strict hygiene, sterilisation, and infection-control protocols
- Contribute to a warm, professional patient experience consistent with the Bloom standard
Requirements
- Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Oral Hygienist
- Relevant diploma or degree in Oral Hygiene
- Sound clinical skills with attention to detail and patient care
- Strong communication skills and a patient-first, personable manner
- Comfortable working with practice management software (GoodX experience an advantage, not required)
- Previous experience preferred, but strong graduates are welcome to apply
