Job description
The Outbound Business Agent drives proactive engagement with Telkom Business fixed-line bases and leads on behalf of the DSF Business Account Managers, converts non-responsive prospects into scheduled appointments, and supports the Telkom Business call centre function by handling incoming support and sales calls. The role also carries responsibility for upselling add-on products (including YEP and Cyber Security) to existing Telkom Base and Feathercom PIS customers, and for driving renewals across the Fixed and Mobile business database.
1. Telkom Bases & Lead Management (Fixed)
- Work assigned Telkom Business fixed-line bases and lead lists.
- Follow up with customers who have not responded to the introduction email.
- Set up qualified appointments for DSF Business Account Managers.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of base and lead status.
2. Inbound Call Handling
- Attend to incoming customer calls promptly and professionally.
- Resolve or route support queries appropriately.
- Identify and act on sales opportunities arising from inbound calls.
3. Add-On & Upsell Sales
- Sell add-on products to Telkom Bases and Feathercom PIS customers.
- Promote and sell YEP.
- Promote and sell Cyber Security solutions.
- Meet monthly add-on sales targets.
4. Renewals Management
- Manage the renewal business database for Fixed and Mobile customers.
- Proactively contact customers ahead of contract expiry to secure renewals.
- Track and report on renewal pipeline and conversion.
Experience
- Previous experience in outbound telesales, call centre, or business-to business account support.
- Telecommunications or ICT product sales experience advantageous.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong telephone etiquette and communication skills.
- Target-driven with a proactive sales approach.
- Comfortable with high-volume outbound calling and follow-up.
- Organised, with strong database and record-keeping discipline.
- Computer literate; able to work across CRM and call-tracking systems.
Education:
- High School (matric) (Preferred)
