Job description

Role Overview

The Outbound Clerk is responsible for coordinating and overseeing daily outbound warehouse operations, including dispatches to regional branches, customers, and commercial partners, as well as the accurate processing of stock transfers within the warehouse system. The role ensures that all outbound materials and parts are thoroughly inspected through visual and system-based checks to verify accuracy, quality, and compliance before dispatch.

The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that outbound activities are executed efficiently, on time, and in accordance with company policies, health and safety standards, and service-level agreements. The role supports operational excellence by maintaining accurate records, monitoring outbound processes, and driving efficiency to ensure the smooth and effective movement of goods throughout the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of stock movements and transactions on ERP/WMS systems.
  • Coordinate inbound logistics to ensure timely flow of goods.
  • Monitor outbound accuracy through counts and transfer reconciliations.
  • Supervise and support warehouse assistant staff to achieve productivity targets.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards in all warehouse activities
  • Prepare regular warehouse reports, outbound, ageing

Desired Skills and Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • National Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Warehouse Management
  • Registration with professional logistics bodies (e.g. SAPICS) is an advantage

Technical Skills

  • Experience in warehouse receiving and dispatch operations 2 – 3 years
  • Experience in processing WMS transactions (receipts, dispatches, stock transfers) 2 – 3 years
  • QA/QC experience required in a manufacturing environment (electronic or
  • metal manufacturing experience advantageous) 2 – 3 years
  • General logistics or supply chain administrative experience 1 – 2 years
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations, stock control, and distribution processes.
