Position Overview

We are looking for a motivated and results-driven Sales Specialist to join our wholesale sales team. This role is responsible for developing new business, managing existing trade accounts, and providing outstanding service to jewellery retailers, manufacturers, and designers across South Africa.

The ideal candidate is passionate about sales, enjoys building long-term client relationships, and is confident presenting premium diamond and jewellery products. Regular travel to clients is an essential part of the role.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage relationships with jewellery retailers, manufacturers, designers, and wholesalers.
• Identify and secure new wholesale business opportunities.
• Present certified lab-grown diamonds and fine jewellery collections to clients.
• Conduct in-person client meetings and regular sales visits throughout South Africa.
• Provide product knowledge, pricing guidance, and industry insights.
• Prepare quotations, follow up on opportunities, and negotiate sales.
• Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity within the CRM system.
• Collaborate with the operations and production teams to ensure smooth order fulfilment.
• Represent BYL Diamonds at trade shows, exhibitions, networking events, and industry functions.
• Achieve monthly and annual sales targets while maintaining exceptional customer service standards.

Qualifications & Experience

Education & Experience

• Proven experience in sales, preferably within the jewellery, diamond, luxury goods, or B2B wholesale industry.
• Experience working with jewellery retailers or manufacturers is highly advantageous.
• Existing relationships within the jewellery trade will be beneficial.
• Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office.

• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Professional, confident, and client-focused.
• Highly organised with strong time management skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Knowledge of diamonds and fine jewellery is advantageous.
• Knowledge of lab-grown diamonds is a strong advantage.

Requirements

• Valid South African driver’s licence.
• Willingness to travel regularly between clients and across South Africa.
• Own reliable vehicle preferred.
• Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for trade events when required.
