Role Impact
As a B2C Outbound Sales Specialist at Nexford, your role goes beyond just closing enrollments – you’ll be a key player in driving our mission to provide accessible, high-quality education globally.
This is a highly targeted, consultative sales position where you’ll manage both inbound and outbound calls, primarily engaging prospective learners in the US and other international markets. You’ll work directly with prospective learners to understand their goals, overcome objections, and guide them toward the Nexford program that best fits their career aspirations.
The role requires balancing productivity and quality: not only exceeding enrollment targets but also upholding Nexford’s standards through rigorous QA call marking during downtime. Every enrollment you secure contributes directly to Nexford’s growth, helping us expand our reach and impact.
We’re looking for exceptional sales professionals who bring end-to-end sales experience, education sales expertise, US market experience, resilience, consultative-selling skills, and a passion for making a measurable difference in a high-impact EdTech environment.
Why You’ll Love This Role
- Meaningful Impact: Help make high-quality education accessible worldwide by guiding learners to achieve their career goals with Nexford’s programs.
- Consultative Sales: Use a targeted, consultative approach to connect with learners, meet sales goals, and optimize enrollment strategies.
- Global Reach: Engage with learners from over 110 countries, making a tangible difference in lives across diverse communities.
- US Market Exposure: Work directly with prospective learners in the US market and develop your experience in a global B2C sales environment.
- Purpose-Driven Growth: Join a mission-focused startup where your contributions are valued, and participate in continuous learning to support Nexford’s vision of accessible, career-focused education.
What You'll Be Owning
- 80% of your day is on calls — outbound, inbound, and follow-up. This is a phone-first role.
- Own the full sales cycle, from initial conversation and qualification through consultation, objection handling, follow-up, and closing the enrollment.
- Convert high-priority leads by understanding learners’ goals and recommending the program that best fits their needs.
- Follow up persistently and adapt your approach until the right decision is made.
- Manage your pipeline across all channels and respond within SLAs — every time.
- Consistently work toward and exceed individual enrollment and revenue targets.
- Review sales interactions and calls to maintain and improve quality standards across the team.
Skills and Qualifications
We care more about what you've achieved than ticking every box:
- 3+ years of end-to-end outbound telesales experience, including prospecting, conducting sales conversations, handling objections, follow-up, and closing deals.
- Lead generation or appointment-setting experience alone is not sufficient — you must have hands-on experience owning and closing the full sales cycle.
- At least 1 year of sales experience in Education or EdTech is required.
- Previous experience selling to customers in the US market is required, preferably in a B2C environment.
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets in a KPI-driven environment. You own your numbers.
- Strong consultative selling, objection-handling, negotiation, and closing skills.
- The discipline to manage your own performance remotely and deliver without being chased.
- Exceptional English, both written and verbal, with strong listening and communication skills.
- Must be based in South Africa.
- Must be available to work US time zones / US business hours.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Education, or a related field.
