Padel Club Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking an energetic, professional, and community minded Padel Club Manager and community engagement lead.

You will be the face of the coaching programmes and community engagement at our club. Your role is to inspire players, grow participation, and drive the sporting and social energy that makes the club thrive.

Your responsibilities will combine coaching excellence, community leadership, and event activation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Coaching & Player Development

· Deliver high quality private and group coaching for all skill levels.

· Design structured coaching programmes (beginners, intermediates, juniors, elite).

· Mentor assistant coaches and hitting partners (as the club grows).

· Build a player pathway from social to competitive play.

· Social outreach and youth development programme management in collaboration with TPE.

2. Community Engagement

· Foster a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation.

· Create weekly social sessions (e.g. “Vines League Nights”, “Ladies & Lattes”, “Padel & Wine Fridays”).

· Actively engage with members and guests to grow loyalty and retention.

· Build relationships with local schools, hotels, and guesthouses to promote padel.

3. Events & Tournaments

· Host and manage regular tournaments, and social events

· Collaborate with the ownership team on special events, charity days, and brand activations.

· Work with ambassadors and influencers to elevate the club’s visibility and reputation.

4. Business & Marketing Support

· Collaborate on social media content (training clips, player highlights, event recaps).

· Contribute to marketing ideas that drive bookings and court usage.

· Provide input on pro shop stock (rackets, balls, apparel) from a professional perspective.

5. Professional Standards

· Be the ambassador of Padel in the Vines: professional, enthusiastic, and approachable.

· Stay updated on international coaching techniques and padel trends.

· Represent the club positively at all times – on and off court.

6. Food & Beverage Knowledge

· Menu design and optimization

· Food and beverage pricing strategies

· Stock control and wastage reduction

· Supplier management

· Café/bar operations at sports venues

· Revenue per visitor and upselling opportunities

· Event and tournament catering

· Staff scheduling and service standards

· Food safety and hygiene compliance

· Promotions, combos, and member loyalty offers

· Proven padel coaching experience

· Strong interpersonal and motivational skills.

· Confident working independently and building new programmes from the ground up.

· A genuine love for the sport and the Franschhoek lifestyle.

· Passion for padel, sport, or hospitality environments

· Responsible to manage a team, with great leadership and communications

· Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Candidate Profile

· Grade 12 (Matric) or Equivalent

· 3 years with certificate preferred in the rackets sports industry

· Previous experience in a customer-facing role (hospitality, sport, leisure, or front -of -house)

· Proven experience in a managerial or senior team member role

· Basic Computer literacy (booking systems, POS, emails, Playtomic )

Work Location: In person
