Part-Time EGD Tutor – Grade 10

About the Role

Academic Catalysts is looking for a dedicated, knowledgeable and reliable Engineering Graphics and Design (EGD) Tutor to provide academic support to a Grade 10 learner.

The successful candidate should have strong knowledge of EGD and be able to explain technical concepts, drawing principles and problem-solving techniques clearly. The tutor must be comfortable providing lessons online via Microsoft Teams and be available for in-person lessons in or around Roodepoort when required.

Requirements

Applicants must:

• Have achieved 80% or higher in EGD in Grade 10, Grade 11 and Grade 12 (submit proof with application).
• Have a strong understanding of the relevant EGD curriculum, particularly at Grade 10 level.
• Have at least 1 year of previous tutoring or teaching experience in EGD.
• Be proficient in using Microsoft Teams for online lessons.
• Have reliable internet access and the necessary equipment for conducting online lessons.
• Be able to explain technical concepts, drawings and EGD principles clearly.
• Be reliable, professional and punctual.
• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Live in or around Roodepoort, Gauteng, and be able to conduct in-person lessons there when required.

Responsibilities

The successful tutor will be expected to:

• Provide one-on-one Grade 10 EGD tuition.
• Prepare lessons according to the learner's academic needs.
• Assist the learner with EGD concepts, technical drawings and problem areas.
• Help the learner develop effective drawing, problem-solving and examination techniques.
• Conduct online lessons using Microsoft Teams.
• Conduct in-person lessons in or around Roodepoort when required.
• Monitor the learner's progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Complete lesson and progress reports where required.
• Maintain professional communication with the learner and parent/guardian.
