JOB SUMMARY:
We are looking for an experienced, passionate Design Thinking for Marketing Practice lecturer, to join our academic team to teach and mentor the next generation of Red & Yellow game changers.
As a lecturer in your field of expertise, you will take full responsibility for the academic performance and functioning of your modules and cohort in both the contact and distance modes. You will be required to work closely with the Programme Coordinator, Heads of the Department, programme administrators and the lecturing team to maintain, develop and grow Red &Yellow’s excellent and respected programme offering.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Lecturing of Design thinking for marketing practice in our highly regarded BBA Brand and
Marketing management program - contact and distance cohorts, in accordance with the
requirements of he programme outcomes and in accordance with the accredited programme
outlines
● Lecture and deliver content in alignment with core subjects (not limited to): Marketing and
design thinking practices, innovation and creativity with an emphasis on practical
implementation for lectures
● Deliver and improve on the curriculum for the modules aligned to Red & Yellow’s teaching style,
including, but not limited to, lesson planning, tutorial content and planning, creation of tests,
assessments and exams
● Lecture and conduct tutorials as part of the programme offering in both the contact and
distance mode
● Participate in the monitoring & evaluation of the academic programme, including attendance
and maintenance of student records
● Liaise with academic colleagues/relevant industry contacts to ensure ongoing development
and relevance
● Participate in the annual upgrade of programme content, where relevant
● Conduct marking and moderation processes, participating in internal and external moderation
processes where necessary
● Participate in examination and certification processes and promotion of students
● Attend regular faculty meetings and relevant faculty events
● Ensure both hard and electronic filing of all required documentation, including tracking and
reporting on at-risk students
● Inform student grievance & disciplinary sessions, where relevant
● Adhere to centralised Red & Yellow policies and procedures that ensure outstanding quality
and unquestionable integrity of all academic programmes that are offered
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
● Honours degree (NQF8) in Marketing or Business Management, with specialisation in design
thinking/innovation, a Masters degree would be an advantage
● Minimum 4 - 5 years industry experience in the subject area
● Minimum 2 years teaching experience
● A network ofindustry or academic professionals to offer students practical and real-world
exposure would be advantageous
● Tech savvy (Microsoftteam, Google etc) and a specific understanding in database systems,
project management, business process modelling and related business information system
principles
