Payroll And HR Junior Manager

Please note that this is an equity position (African, Coloured, Indian) male or female. Person must have minimum of 5 years payroll experience. MUST HAVE SAGE VIP PAYROLL EXPERIENCE.

1. Payroll Management

• End to end full responsibility of the payroll function.
• Timeous resolution of all employee payroll and other queries.
• Accurate and timely processing of monthly payroll
• Ensuring all payroll inputs (overtime, deductions, benefits) are correctly captured and verified
• Compliance with all statutory requirements, including PAYE, UIF, and other regulatory submissions
• Maintenance of payroll records in line with audit and legislative standards
• Ensuring employees are paid according to the Bargaining Council Agreement
• Accurate maintenance of all payroll reports and monthly submissions of payroll reports to Finance.

2. HR Administration

• Efficient management of employee records, ensuring accuracy and completeness at all times.
• Timely preparation and issuance of employment contracts, letters, and HR documentation.
• Effective coordination of onboarding processes for new employees.
• Proper filing and maintenance of HR documentation in compliance with company policies.
• Employment Equity support.
• Employee Wellness administration and arrangement of events.
• Performance management and appraisals administration support.

3. Employee Support & Query Resolution

• Prompt and professional response to employee payroll and HR-related queries
• Providing accurate guidance to employees on HR policies, procedures, and payroll matters
• Maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions

4. Compliance & Governance

• Adherence to South African labour legislation, including the Basic Conditions of Employment Act and Labour Relations Act and bargaining councils.
• Ensuring employee data is handled in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA)
• Supporting internal and external audits with accurate and complete information

5. HR & Payroll Systems

• Accurate capturing and updating of employee data on HR and payroll systems
• Generating and maintaining standard HR and payroll reports
• Identifying and escalating system errors or discrepancies

8. Team & Stakeholder Collaboration

• Working closely with finance, line managers, and external service providers
• Supporting the HR team in delivering overall departmental objectives
• Must be client centric and handle employee queries quickly and accurately.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong organizational and administrative skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Must have experience managing a large payroll.
• Good knowledge of HR processes and payroll input management.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with large employee groups and under pressure.

Pay: R20 000,00 - R28 000,00 per month
